Ryan is a guitarist, composer, improvisor, and educator from and currently based in Denver.

He creates music with immersive sound design and affects that are often intense and abrasive with contrasting sparse minimalistic textures and distorted soundscapes often paired with digital and analog visuals.

For over a decade, Ryan has been a dedicated educator in the Colorado region. He is currently The Coordinator of Guitar Studies and Interim Director of Recording Arts at Regis University, professor of Music Technology and Digital Music at the University of Denver, is a lead curriculum developer and teaching artist for The Newman Center for Performing Arts’ Music Creators, and is Assistant Director of Very Young Composers Vail (a collaboration with The Playground Ensemble and The New York Philharmonic).

Ryan is an active member of The Playground Ensemble as a composer, performer, and an educator, also serving as the Education Coordinator. He is a past collaborator with the immersive theater and dance collective Control Group Productions, regularly works with longtime friends and mentors William Hill and Conrad Kehn, and has played in a number of rock, jazz, and experimental music groups in Denver.

He was formally educated at Metropolitan State University of Denver and The University of Denver in guitar performance and composition.
